Crown Laboratory Stages: Why Try-Ins Vary

  • The timing of the next try-in may be refined.
  • The clinic tells you when you are ready for the next stage.
  • We do not give a guarantee of a crown within a specific number of days.

Making a crown includes a laboratory stage, and dates can be refined. We explain what depends on what and how to plan visits if your calendar is limited.

What data is passed on for fabrication

After the tooth is prepared, impressions or data for fabrication are passed on. The colour and shape are also agreed.

When clarifications may be needed

If the quality of the impression is insufficient or additional data is needed, the laboratory or the dentist may ask for clarification. Then the date changes.

How the try-in affects the next stage

After the try-in, adjustments requiring the work to go back to the laboratory may be needed. This affects the cementation date.

What to agree if your calendar is limited

The clinic. Clarify how you prefer to receive messages.
